Depop Fees 2026: How Much Does Depop Take?
How much does Depop take from a sale in 2026? It depends on your location, payment processing fees, shipping setup and whether your sale qualifies for a Boosting fee.
For sellers in the US, UK and Australia, Depop currently charges no selling fee. Payment processing still applies, and a qualifying Boosted Listing sale can add another charge. Sellers in other markets may also pay a selling fee.
Below, you'll find the current fee rates, examples showing how much remains from a sale, and a free fee estimator to help you calculate the costs that apply to your transaction.
How much does Depop take from a $50 sale?
Consider a US seller with these details: item price $50, buyer-paid shipping $0, applicable taxes $0, no Boosting.
This $47.90 is before other business costs, such as inventory, packaging or shipping expenses. It is not the seller's net profit. The old calculation—subtracting 10% and arriving at $45—would not be correct for this example under the current US selling-fee policy.
The short answer: How much does Depop take?
For sellers using Depop Payments, the published fee structure is:
| Seller location | Selling fee | Payment processing |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 0% | 3.3% + $0.45 |
| United Kingdom | 0% | 2.9% + £0.30 |
| Australia | 0% | 2.6% + A$0.30 |
| Other markets | 10% where applicable | Payment-provider fees vary |
Payment processing is calculated on the item price, shipping costs and applicable taxes.
For sellers outside the US, UK and Australia, the 10% selling fee is calculated on the item price excluding taxes. Shipping can also enter the selling-fee calculation when the seller arranges their own shipping rather than using a Depop Shipping label.
Does Depop still charge a 10% selling fee?
Not for sellers based in the US, UK or Australia under the current seller-fee policy. Older guides often say that Depop takes 10% from every sale. That statement is no longer accurate for all sellers.
The 10% selling fee may still apply to sellers in other markets under the applicable rules. Your seller location matters, and your shipping method can affect the amount used to calculate a fee.
A 0% selling fee also does not mean that every transaction is free. Payment processing and qualifying Boosting fees can still apply.
What fees can come out of a Depop sale?
There are three main seller-side fee categories to understand.
1. Selling fee
The selling fee is the percentage many sellers associate with Depop's older fee structure.
- US: 0%
- UK: 0%
- Australia: 0%
- Other markets: 10% where applicable under Depop's rules
For sellers subject to the 10% fee, the calculation can depend on the item price and, for seller-arranged shipping, the shipping amount. Check the current policy for your market and shipping method.
2. Payment-processing fee
Payment processing applies to transactions using Depop Payments in the US, UK and Australia.
- US: 3.3% + $0.45
- UK: 2.9% + £0.30
- Australia: 2.6% + A$0.30
The percentage is applied to the item price plus shipping and applicable taxes. The fixed amount is then added. That fixed fee matters particularly on low-priced sales because it represents a larger share of a $10 sale than a $100 sale.
Sellers using PayPal or selling in other markets should check the payment fee shown for their own transaction. Do not assume that the Depop Payments rates apply to every payment arrangement.
3. Boosting fee
Boosting can increase a listing's visibility, but a qualifying Boosted Listing sale can also cost more. Under Depop's current Boosted Listings policy, the rates are:
- US: 12%
- UK: 12%
- Australia: 8%
- Markets outside the UK and US: 8%, subject to the applicable policy
A Boosting fee is not necessarily charged just because a listing has been boosted. Depop's policy describes a qualifying sale where a buyer interacts with the boosted listing—including viewing, clicking or liking it—and then purchases the item within the applicable 28-day window. That means turning Boosting off does not necessarily eliminate a fee associated with an earlier qualifying interaction.
The Boosting calculation also differs from payment processing. For seller-arranged shipping, shipping costs can be included in the Boosting fee base. Depop Shipping label costs are not included in that base. Check the current Boosted Listings policy for the precise terms that apply to your listing.
Why the fixed processing fee matters on cheaper sales
The fixed $0.45 in the US processing fee does not shrink when the item price is low. Here are examples using the US rate, with no shipping, no applicable tax and no Boosting.
| Item price | Processing fee | Remaining after processing |
|---|---|---|
| $10 | $0.78 | $9.22 |
| $20 | $1.11 | $18.89 |
| $35 | $1.61 | $33.39 |
| $50 | $2.10 | $47.90 |
| $75 | $2.93 | $72.07 |
| $100 | $3.75 | $96.25 |
| $250 | $8.70 | $241.30 |
| $500 | $16.95 | $483.05 |
These figures show only the listed processing fee. They do not include shipping, inventory costs, packaging, taxes owed by the seller or other business expenses. For inexpensive items, it is worth checking the actual costs before deciding whether the sale is worthwhile.
Why this $10 screenshot matters: the estimator shows a $0.78 processing fee on a $10 sale — that is 7.8% of the sale price, and the fixed $0.45 alone is about 58% of that fee. On a $100 sale the fee is $3.75 (3.75%) and the same $0.45 is only about 12% of the fee. The fixed part never shrinks, which is why cheap sales pay a higher real percentage.
Why is my Depop processing fee different on two similar sales?
Two items can sell for the same price but have different processing fees. The item price may be identical while the full transaction amount is different. For Depop Payments, processing is calculated on the item price plus shipping and applicable taxes, with a fixed fee added.
Example: two US sales of a $40 item
| Sale A | Sale B | |
|---|---|---|
| Item price | $40 | $40 |
| Shipping | $0 | $8 |
| Processing base | $40 | $48 |
| Processing fee | $1.77 | $2.03 |
The item prices are the same, but the processing fees differ because the transaction amounts differ. If a fee looks unexpected, compare the full receipt details—not just the item price. Also check whether either transaction included Boosting or a different payment arrangement.
What happens when the buyer pays shipping?
Suppose a US seller has an item price of $50 and buyer-paid shipping of $8, with no applicable taxes in this example. The processing base is $50 + $8 = $58. Processing is: $58 × 3.3% + $0.45 = $2.36.
The buyer's $8 shipping payment is part of the transaction, but it should not automatically be treated as profit. The seller may still need to pay for the actual shipping label. Keep these amounts separate:
- Platform fee: the processing charge calculated on the transaction.
- Shipping expense: the actual cost of the label or postage.
- Amount remaining: what is left after the transaction proceeds and relevant costs are accounted for.
A shipping label is not a Depop platform fee, but it can still be a real seller expense. For detailed label and shipping guidance, see Depop Shipping Explained.
What does Depop take if I boost my listing?
Consider a US sale with a $50 item price, no shipping charged separately, no applicable taxes and a qualifying Boosting fee.
This example excludes other business costs. The difference between $47.90 for the non-boosted example and $41.90 for the boosted example is $6.00—the Boosting fee in this example.
How to read this output: the estimator lists Selling fee $0.00 (0% for US sellers), Payment processing $2.10 (3.3% + $0.45 on $50), and Boosting fee $6.00 (12% of $50) — a total of $8.10 in platform fees. After those fees, the estimated amount remaining is $41.90. Compare the same sale without Boosting: only the $2.10 processing fee applies and $47.90 remains — so the qualifying Boosted sale costs exactly $6.00 more.
What is the Depop Marketplace fee?
The Marketplace fee is a buyer-side fee, not a seller fee deducted from your payout. Under the current policy, the fee can be up to 5% of the item purchase price plus a fixed amount, subject to the relevant market's terms. For the US and UK, the published maximum includes up to $1 or £1. Australia has a similar buyer-side fee structure with a fixed amount in Australian dollars.
The buyer's fee is separate from the seller's transaction costs. Do not subtract it from your seller proceeds when calculating your own fee total. However, it can still affect the buyer's checkout total. A higher final price may influence how attractive an item looks compared with similar listings.
What about Depop bundles?
Bundle transactions can make fee receipts harder to interpret. For sellers outside the UK and US, Depop's policy says the selling fee can apply per item in a bundle, while payment processing applies once per bundle transaction.
For example, a seller subject to the 10% selling fee who sells three items together may see selling-fee calculations associated with the individual items but one processing fee for the bundle transaction. For US, UK and Australian sellers under the current 0% selling-fee policy, the 10%-per-item selling-fee issue does not apply. Processing and any other applicable charges still need to be checked.
How are Depop fees deducted?
Depop Payments
Applicable fees are accounted for in the Depop Payments transaction before the remaining sale proceeds are paid out. Review the transaction details to see the amounts applied.
PayPal
For sellers using PayPal, the sale proceeds and payment-provider charges may be handled separately from Depop's own charges. PayPal processing can vary, so do not use the US, UK or Australian Depop Payments rates to estimate a PayPal transaction unless those rates actually apply.
How do I check exactly what Depop charged me?
Do not rely on memory or calculate the fee from the payout amount alone.
- Open the sale's transaction receipt in Depop.
- Check the item price and shipping amount.
- Check applicable taxes and the payment method.
- Look for a selling fee, processing fee or Boosting fee where applicable.
- Compare the amounts with Depop's current official policy.
- If you need to review multiple sales, check whether Depop's sales download provides the transaction details you need.
Your current transaction receipt is the best starting point for understanding a specific sale. The official policy explains the rules; the receipt shows the transaction details.
What to check when a Depop fee looks wrong
- Processing: Does the calculation include shipping and applicable taxes, as well as the fixed fee?
- Boosting: Did the sale qualify under the Boosted Listings attribution rules, including the applicable 28-day window?
- Shipping method: Was the transaction sent using a Depop Shipping label or seller-arranged shipping? This can affect the Boosting calculation.
- Bundle: Is the receipt showing item-level selling fees and transaction-level processing where applicable?
- Payment method: Are you using Depop Payments or PayPal? Their charges should not automatically be treated as identical.
- Current policy: Does the charge match the official policy that applies to your market and transaction?
If the receipt still does not make sense after these checks, contact Depop Support with the transaction details. Do not assume that every unexpected amount is an error, but do not ignore a charge you cannot reconcile either.
Seven Depop fee mistakes sellers still make
- Assuming Depop takes 10% from every sale. The current seller-fee policy differs by seller market.
- Assuming a 0% selling fee means the transaction is free. Processing and qualifying Boosting fees can still apply.
- Calculating processing on the item price alone. Shipping and applicable taxes can be part of the processing base.
- Treating buyer-paid shipping as profit. The actual postage or label still has to be accounted for.
- Subtracting the Marketplace fee from the seller payout. This is a buyer-side fee, not a seller deduction.
- Assuming turning off Boosting removes every possible Boosting charge. A prior qualifying interaction may still matter under the 28-day policy.
- Confusing the amount remaining after platform fees with net profit. Inventory, postage, packaging, refunds and other costs can change the final result.
Your Depop fee is not your true selling cost
A fee calculator can tell you how much a platform fee costs. A seller usually needs a broader answer: how much money remains after the transaction and the seller's expenses? These are different calculations.
Platform costs can include selling fees, payment processing and qualifying Boosting fees. Other business costs can include inventory, shipping labels, packaging, refunds, return postage and the loss in value of an item that comes back damaged or cannot be resold at its previous value.
The amount remaining after platform fees is not necessarily your profit. Your actual result depends on the costs that apply to your sale. The bottom line
The old answer—"Depop takes 10%"—is no longer sufficient for every seller in 2026. For sellers in the US, UK and Australia, the current selling fee is 0%, but processing and qualifying Boosting fees can still apply.
The important details are the seller's market, the payment method, the transaction amount, the shipping method and whether the sale qualifies for Boosting.
Check the current official rules, review the receipt and calculate the costs that actually apply to your transaction. Do not confuse the amount remaining after platform fees with net profit.
